Default Need some guidance and info

Hey all,

Been looking at upgrading the sounds in my truck lately as my next project and needed some info/advice.

I currently have a power acoustik double din touchscreen. (It's junk don't ever purchase one, however, for 80 bucks or whatever I paid for it, it has gotten the job done.) 2 10 inch Rockford Fosgate shallow mount subs in a box that downfires under my seat powered by a 1000 watt Kenwood amp that I won't be upgrading or changing. And I also have pioneer 3 way speakers that are being replaced by RF 6x8s because I don't have much of an interest in going with 6.5 and what not. I am already running the speakers directly to the deck and have bypassed the factory wiring because it was shorted out in two of my speakers previously. I plan on running a back up camera as well that will mount to the license plate just because I'll have the screen.

My 1st question is what are some decently priced double din that yall are running?

Also I have been looking into a mini amp to place behind the stereo to run my speakers off of and was wondering if anyone had any experience with them? I have been looking at a clarion 4 channel that matches the rms for the speakers I plan on using I just wondered if anyone has ever mounted an amp behind their stereos?

As a side question if anyone knows the answer, if not I'll email sct, but I have grown quite fond of the sct live wire tuner and was wondering if anyone knows if there is a output from the tuner that could display the tuner screen onto a double din stereo?

Thanks again and sorry for the loaded question! Any and all input is greatly appreciated! Have a good day yall

Not on my F150, but on my 99' GT I have an Alpine power pak that is a direct plug and play for most of Alpine's decks. Its not a very high powered amp but it did make a noticeable difference, and you can get them off Amazon for $100 or just under. They also have a universal version that needs to be wired up for a different deck manufacturer.

My GT has Kicker 10' subs and a Kicker amp powering them. Then in the doors it has Alpine Type R Component 5.25's with crossovers and component tweeters (all one kit), and then it has Type R 6x8's in the upper deck. Adding the Alpine mini amp made a huge difference in the audible highs and mid-range. It fits on the tranny tunnel just behind the stereo on the Mustang with no issues so I'm sure you would have plenty of room in a F150.

If you want more, there is always JL component speakers, but be prepared to shell out some coin and then spend more for a decent amp to run them lol.

Thank you for that! I may run components in the front some day because I have the slots for the tweeters in my doors and have been contemplating running tweeters in the door vents as well on my 04. I'll have to look at the alpine and possibly an alpine deck as well. I had an alpine in my old Nissan in my first car and they were really sweet. Way ahead of their time and was able to run my ipod and what not lol I'll look into them! Thanks for the input

Decently priced double din. Just installed and happy with it, also got the steering controls adapter (separate). The head unit does come with blu tooth mic though

What steering wheel adapter did you go with? I lost mine when I installed my current one and never bought one. The mic isn't much of a problem I can mount it somewhere that won't be real noticeable.
