Default Need help- Stealership

GRRRRRR--- So I've been trying to sell my truck for a while now because I wan't to upgrade to a bit of a nicer F150, however I finally found a serious potential buyer and he requested a used car inspection before he makes the 7 hour drive to buy the truck..

However while at the "steal-ur-****" they found - "driveline vibrations" Rear Oil leak and exhaust manifold leak. They didn't give me a price on the fix but supposedly the potential buyer called and asked on a price to fix these problems and he said they guessed around 3-5k..... That sounds insane, but he might just be pulling the number out of his ***.

Heres the catch.. He said he won't buy the truck with these problems. So I suppose I should try to get these fixed before I sell the truck anyway so it doesn't scare away any other future buyers.

I have the Power-train warranty and was wondering if it would cover any of these...I don't really wan't to spend any extra money on the truck because I'm just trying to sell it and upgrade.... I called the dealership and they weren't quite sure if my warrant would cover anything...

What are you're thoughts...? Is he being serious with the price? And will my warranty cover anything?

I don't see how they wouldn't cover it. Your going to have to read it but everything you've described sounds like power train to me. The dealer gets paid whether from you or ford so I'm surprised they seem so ignorant on warranty coverage. I would find another dealer and have them look into it.

"Buyer" sounds like a PITA Lookey Lou, write him off. If you notice vibration and oil leak maybe you should check them out. Will the stealurs*!t NOT give you a price?? Personally I would never go to one if the repairs were not covered by warrany, there are enough good independent shops out there with smaller boat payments than the stealers!
Btw I don't think any of those are covered by a drive train warranty.

Its hard to give a price without knowing exactly whats going on. Driveline vibrations and rear oil leak are kind of broad. I am a Ford certified service advisor currently working at a Ford dealership so I could give you an accurate estimate if you could get some more specifics on the work needing to be performed. Also if you want to PM me your VIN I can run the OASIS and see what kind of parts coverage you have on your warranty, after we figure out what needs to be done

Ah, that'd be cool I'll send you a PM when I can get home and read the VIN.

Also this is what the dealership told me... They didn't specify anything....... It said "Driveline vibrations, Rear oil leak and exhaust manifold leak." Paid them 110$ to find that out...... And I called the dealership when I got home and they said that the Power-train warranty might cover the vibrations and maybe the oil leak...

And this was an actual Ford dealership? Thats crazy, none of my customers leave without knowing exactly whats going on and they have an estimate in their hand. Isn't that what your paying for? To know whats going on?

If I were you I would call the Service Manager and complain, basically you paid for absolutely nothing.

Just my thoughts on it though.
