when I turn on the ignition, the only light goes on flashing for a few seconds and then goes off is the airbag orange light (see in picture), instead of having all the lights on for a few seconds and then goes off.
- all the other lights are off (not sure if they called warming lights)
- gauges are not working
- Milages is on/off but mostly off
- beeps if the key inside the ignition is on
ALL fuses and relays are good
ALL related connectors are clean
I opened the instruments cluster to see if any of the soldiers dots broke - it’s all good
I bought another instrument cluster (not sure what year was it from) from junk yard, thinking that mine was bad, but when I connected it I had the exact same issue.
Someone more well versed than I will likely come along with better help, but do some searching on airbag codes (18). And, if you haven’t yet, try wiggling/pressing where connector attaches to cluster to see if you have issue with connector.
Here is a hit it I got searching airbag 18. Probably many others out there too (didn’t read thoroughly or know how good thread/advice was)
I tried to look for it, but it doesn’t seems like the reason for my issue.
It can’t explain why the other lights are not working at all, and why the odometer is working sometimes but mostly off.
main thing for me is to fix the odometer to be working, but ofc rather to have all lights functioning.
This could be a bad or dirty ground connection. Take a look at the ground connections located behind the interior kick panels (drivers and passengers side)
