Need Help Identifying Part to Replace After Attempted Theft
Hi everyone,I'm new to this forum and could really use some advice. Earlier today, someone tried to steal my truck, but thankfully, they weren't successful. The thief removed the lock cylinder, but I'm not sure what other parts I need to replace to get my truck back in working order.Any guidance on what I should look for or what parts I need to replace would be greatly appreciated. My truck is essential for me and my family, so I'm hoping to get this fixed as soon as possible. Thanks in advance for your help!
That part hanging down is the transceiver antenna ring. If it's damaged you'll need a new or good used one.
You'll need a lock cylinder, and it looks like the housing the cylinder goes into maybe pretty damaged.
If you still have your keys, the way to go in my opinion for the lock cylinder is getting the motorcraft one that comes with all the wafers and take the 15 minutes to key it to your old key so you don't have to mess with programming in new PATS keys.
Go to parts.ford.com Use your VIN to find parts specific to your truck.
At the very least, you need a new cylinder. I can't really tell from your photo what is damaged, and what still works. If you're lucky, you could find parts in a junk yard, which may or may not work. Your local dealership will be able to pull up the same parts diagram and hopefully get whatever you need.

The lock cylinders are available online, at over the counter parts stores, and dealerships. Instructions should be included. If you can wait for shipping, then pricing online is a lot lower.
