Alright im pretty frustrated with the dealership my warranty is bout up and want to get all the oil leaks fixed this is the third time its back for the same thing rear main seal and valve cover gasket its finallly fixed but anyways there is a hose from the intake to the drivers side valve cover that has a seal that leaks and they wanna charge me 50 bucks to change it on top of my 100 dollar deductable anybody know what the hose is called or what its for ?

 

Its your PCV hose.. If it leaks you may have an unplugged or faulty PCV valve.. But PCV valve failure is rare..

 

Is there a way to tell if the pcv valve is bad cause the dealership was tryin to tell me I need a new seal on that hose

 

You can pull the valve off and shake it. If it doesn't rattle it's clogged.

I'm kinda confused on how the PCV is leaking though seeing how it only pulls air, unless they mean it's leaking air?

 

The pcv valve is on the passenger side valve cover this hose is on the drivers side valve cover and goes from the intake to the valve cover I looked on rock auto I think I figured out what it could be does a crankcase breather line sound right ?

 

What engine do you have? A 4.6?

You have 2 similar lines on either side of the 5.4. The one on the Passenger side of mine looked like it had a little oil around it. I figured it was the PCV tube. I ordered a new one, the only one listed on Rockauto, and it was the drivers side that arrived. So I replaced that anyway and to this day, I still haven't opened the book to see what the passenger side tube is called.

 

From what ive seen from lookin for this part the passenger side is the actual pvc valve and when you replaced that hose did u happen to see maybe an oring in there that could just be replaced I get my truck back today so havent had a chance to look at it

 

Well I didnt even get to mess with it got into an argument with the ford guy bout havin to pay a 100 dollar deductable after it took 3 times taking it in to get the truck fixed right he said he had to clear it with higher ups thursday got halfway home the speedometer and rpm guage was cutting in and out battery light check engine and a wrench light kept popping up took the truck back said fix it right gave me my money back and went home I cant beleive how bad them guys half *** stuff its rediculouse
