Default need help fast!!

i have a 2005 f150 fx4 with 5.4 in it..two days ago it suddenly started running really rough with hardly any power and strong smell of fuel. i get home and shut it off and the next day try to crank it...hear loud knock from starter and nothing...engine seems to be locked up...snapped the starter shaft into....need to know ideas about what cause this to happen suddenly with no real problems before the rough idle/no power...

it sounds like you have the injector issue that many have had....there is a service bulletin and possible recall....so in a nutshell, you hydrolocked your engine and it's junk....

Did you notice what the oil pressure and coolant temp indication's where reading when it was running bad?

Drain the oil see how it looks, checking for any evidence of metal. Pull the spark plugs, take off the serpentine belt and try and get on the crank shaft pulley bolt with a socket and breaker bar and see if you can rotate the motor through by hand. It's bad news if you can't. Sounds like it's going to be ugly no matter what but I hope I'm wrong.

i'm just fishing in the dark here (poor college dropout with no extra moeny to buy new engine here...lol) but could the culprit be the faulty fuel injectors in the 05's and if so would it be something covered by ford with the extra warrenty or whatever it is????
