Default Need help ASAP

I have a 04 f150 with a 5.4. Every so often I will plug in my car charger or turn on the A/C and it will turn off the power to the stereo. It also will turn on my hazards lights and bright light on my dash but only on the dash. Then a bit later it will work fine. Any help will work.

Im not sure if this pertains to you. But ford did put out a recall about wires being frayed in the steering column. In my opinion its an electrical problem.
Hope you find out whats causing it.

some chargers can actually put out electrical interference. my last car the manual actaully said not to use a charger in the cigarette lighter location cause it could do just what you described. I personally never had it happen, but the potential is there i guess.

Sounds like your steering column is the issue, is your stereo OEM?

Then I would have the dealership or your repair shop check around the steering column wiring. You might just have a loose ground but the fun part is looking for it.

Good Luck!

Haha. I talked to ford and other repair shops. Diagnostic test is about 100 bucks. But I think I worked I deal with them. They do the plugs. The wire problem and flash my computer for around 800.
