Question need advice please body work

so i went a bought my new spray gun to paint my truck, and i want to paint the bottom half of my truck black like how the f150 kind ranch is but black instead of the brown look, but i also want to get a stencil type of thing and put F-150 on the door, how do i do that? do i buy a sticker and put it on the door and paint over it and peal it off after im done with the paint job?

masking tape to mark off the words then mask around the tape. paint then remove

Wow that is a daring adventure. Make sure you sand everything down real good first. I would never even think of painting my own truck, lol. But take lots of pics and let us know how it does.

And usually a stencil of some sort is used.

im thinking about getting a F150 sticker printed out and sticking it where the white part is on the door paint over it and when its all dry take it off? and yeah i know all that sanding stuff primer paint and clear coat plus i need to bando some stuff on my truck, well the bottom back part there is a big dent scratch lol my family is in the car business thats why

hey man, i work in an autobody as a quailty control manager. The key to a succesful paint job is the prepping job, the guys at the shop who take there time most often have way less polishing or redo's becasue of it. I can't tell you anything about spraying as i have never done it. As for the stencil, you may be better off going to a custom vynl shop to have an f-150 sticker made up and then apply it after wards...

the thing is i dont want the sticker to stay there its not clean ide rather take the chance and do it with the origional paint

... have you ever did any painting... your making my stumach hurt...haha ...if you are going to paint the whole truck you .. and you want the f150 to stay white...i would just put the sticker on...and paint the truck and then take the sticker off...

a vinyl sticker shouldnt leave a residue. we have done this a ton at work. like 95 red rado said, prep is the key.
