I have this done on mine as stated earlier in the thread and the muffler shop that did it for me is a Flowmaster shop. The owner never has done a muffler delete on an F150 before and he even stated the guys at the shop were surprised how good it sounded for such a simple change. I would in no way say that it is really loud.

I hope those of you that cut off the cats kept them. When it comes time to sell or trade in that truck, the cats will have to be re-installed. Its a federal law (supersedes any lack of state inspections or laws) that states all smog/pollution equipment must be intact to sell a vehicle.
Even with an "as is" clause in a bill of sale, a buyer can come back and nail you for the cost of cats install. A dealer cannot re-sell a vehicle that has had this equipment removed; they will have to re-install it before they can legally sell it.
My son was served papers two weeks after selling his Subaru WRX STI with its removed cats. The buyer went to register it in their state, and it failed the visual test; the buyer contacted their lawyer, and my son had two options: refund the purchase price (and get the car back), or pay for the parts and the equipment installed. He refunded the price, and took the car back, as he regretted selling it anyhow. He still has it today.

I've cut the muffler off of every truck I have owned and never had an issue. Muffling a v8 is sacrilege. Break the sawzall out and let her breathe! I haven't noticed much low end torque loss it is a 4.6 after all and coming from a 5.7 it has always seemed slow anyways, the noise makes it so much better.

My issue was that my wife did NOT want louder exhaust and wouldn't ride with me anymore if I made it loud. So I bought a QTP electric cut-out and had the shop cut my resonator off and weld the cut-out in its place. Now we're both happy. She has no clue it has been installed and is loud with it open at the flip of a switch. Also you can open it in small increments to control the sound level.
