Default Mud Tires

I have a truck that is classified as a farm truck. I bought this 2005 F150 with extended bed about 6 months ago for a decent deal.
It has crappy Chinese tires and the other day one of the tires came off of the rims.
Looking at facebook I noticed someone locally (within 15 miles of me) has 4 tires and rims for sale but the tires are Toyo mud tires. The tires have about 5 months use so appear to be almost new.
My concern is how loud these tires will be on the high way. The seller agreed that I could install them to check out the noise before buying but I don't want to waste my time if I know before hand the tires will be too noisy.
They want $600 for the 4 tires/rims and I might be able to talk them down to $500. A set of new all terrain tires will run me about $600 after installation.

I would be going from 17" to 18" tires with these mud tires.

All I can add is that from the looks of those tires, there will be road noise. I would say considerable, but I don't know for sure. If it isn't a truck you drive all the time, everyday, for that price, I say go for it.

If its a farm truck, why does it matter about noise? And yes, mud tires are loud.

I might drive it 70 miles round trip once a week and on two occasions went on a 6 hr round trip.

I guess i will need to find out how much noise I can stand.

Toyo is one of the better tire brands out there so while you would have noise just from them being a mud tire. It shouldn't be too bad, IMHO.

Those tires aren't Toyo tires in the picture. Maxis makes buckshot mudders and those clearly say buckshot.

I have Toyo M/T Open Country. I do not find them noisy at all. Certainly not enough to make me consider not having them. At $500-600 AND rims? Grab them now but as said above, the picture you post is not Toyo. Are you sure that's what they are or was the poster of the ad just doing some fast talking? I'd address that concern before noise.

The reviews on the Maxxis Mudder Buckshot II seem to be favorable and the tires new are about $200+ each. I did install the tires and drove down the road at 55 mph. The noise wasn't bad.

That's cool, it's getting harder and harder to find extended bed trucks it seems

I'm still debating on having a back seat since I have 3 kids at home but I do have 2 other cars. The 8 ft bed is so convenient when picking up supplies. I even put my used ATV back there when I bought it from a ATV dealer.

I do have a 12 ft trailer which is why I have debating about buying a F150 crew (post 2008).

After reading comments on google about proper tire inflation for mud tires I settled on 34 psi.
