heres what I don't get... I can absolutely understand worrying about MPGs if only getting like 6 MPGs in the city or something way off the norm or like only getting 80 MPGs for a full tank... but seriously 13.4 MPGs, 11.2 MPGs, whats with the .4 or .6 ? When someone asks me what I get for gas mileage- I say about 12 in the city about 16 highway and "its worth every penny!" we drive 6000 lbs. plus trucks with V-8s, stop worrying about gas mileage unless you are getting some crazy low number or on the other side of the coin and you get 34 MPGs.... and stop with the 13.8 or 10.97 crap! The window stickers from the factory say are trucks are estimated to get 13 city and 17 highway.... So unless you are getting some number way off from these don't be concerned. your gas mileage will always change depending on numerous factors; how full the tank is, which way the wind is blowing, how many people are in it, if you have the AC on, if you're drunk and driving foolish, if you have a hot chick with you and are getting road head......

Also I'm running 285 70r17 hankook dynapro mud terrains at 55 psi. Thanks again guys!!!
Don't use carb cleaner, it can mess up the coating on the throttle body, Use only Throttle Body cleaner. I used the cleaner, an old toothbrush, and paper towels. Yes take it off the truck to clean it. Don't mess with the electronic motor on the side of it (these trucks are drive by wire, not a mechanical cable), you should only need to unplug the one connector, also I recommend putting a clean rag/paper towel over the motor while the throttle body is removed, you don't want anything falling in there!

Thanks guys for the input-I guess I asked the question because this is a replacement for my 03 f150 with a 5.4 which got much better gas mileage, and since I didn't purchase the truck new and don't have the window sticker it was more of a question to see if that was normal not to complain about mpg. I understand how much the truck weights and I understand that many factors affect mpg but this was more on a broad spectrum to assure me that as a new pretty stoked owner there wasn't something wrong right away with mileage I'm getting....if need be I can pm anymore questions I have directly to you for your approval before posting in a forum literally designed for me to ask these stupid questions I have...either way thanks again for the responses!

The window sticker rating for your truck would be 14 city and 18 highway
If you have any more questions you can post them here, use the forum search function, which works very well if you put what your looking for in quotes...for example "leveling kit". Or what I have found works best for me is to do a Google search, and often the first result is this forum. Or start a new thread if you can't find anything
