Motor replacement
I have a 2008 F150 with the 4.2L engine that is pooched. I have found the same engine from a 2006 with less than 5,000 km on it but it has been sitting on a wrecker's shelf for 11 years. My question would be: do I jump all over this or will there be issues that I will have to deal with because of the shelf time?

At a minimum, you are going to have to tear it down and assembly lube it before firing. When you do, you can check for corrosion or other problems. Not going to be just a simple weekend swap out...
Thanks, that is what I was worried about. Low mileage on a used motor is generally a good thing but the shelf time was concerning. Someone suggested putting oil in the cylinders and hand turning but that didn't seem right to me.
