I don't know how this truck is a PIA to work on? Especially brakes and ballpoints. I've replaced all ballpoints and brakes on the 04-08 F150's. Very easy compared to say a 95 F150, which I've done too. Even the front hubs are easy to replace. It's just a unit, take old stuff off, put new stuff in. Did they say what's wrong with your rack? I find it hard to believe it's shot. The power steering pump might be hard to get to, but not impossible.

The power steering pump is indeed a PITA but i did it twice in 2 days. Just make sure you have a 18mm ratchet short wrench to pull the hose clamp. I forget what size bolts were in the bump to block but make sure its a ratchet wrench as well. Or you will never get the thing off and back on in a reasonable amount of time. It's not terrible just terrible for people who dont have a nice ratchet wrench set lol

well this is an old thread im sure the truck has already been fixed. I would like to say though the "don't trust your truck to a dealership" comment, I wouldn't say completely false there are some hack job dealer techs out there. You have to find a good tech and that's hard I know, you could possibly spend a lot of money to find a good tech. I fully believe in finding a tech that does work on the side, on the side he wont butcher a truck. if something messes up its on him. Im a mechanic myself and I do a lot of work on the side. Most of what was listed with this truck is the standard "cover my ***" repair. if your truck needs a jump but stays running once its jumped sounds like a bad battery, but most techs will put a battery AND alt in just to cover their end.

I hope you got everything fixed on the truck, list didn't seem to complicated. Probably take a good weekend for less inclined people. Still not that bad of a job.
