Default Mirror covers

Someone decided to smack my mirror with their door and I have this nice hole in my passenger side mirror now. The rest of the mirror looks and functions flawlessly so I am curious about my repair options. The mirror is heated with turn signal and I am wondering, is this back piece of the mirror is available as a separate part or if I have to get a whole mirror? I've done some searching on Ebay as well as in the classifieds here for a used one and have not found just this back piece. If I have to get a whole mirror, are the backs the same on the basic mirror as well as the ones like this that have heat and signal? If so, obtaining a basic mirror and removing the back might be a viable option.

your about screwed, sorry man. my truck got hit by a fire truck two weeks ago, luckly they paid for a new mirror. they are not cheap, for your mirror with power, heat and turn signal your looking at a solid 500 with install, 250-300 if you do it your self. the fire dept. insurance paid for mine at the repair shop of thier choice, the stealership, and it ran just over 400, but i dont have heated mirrors. i do not believe they sell the backing seperate, only the mirror glass comes seperate. an option that i would look into would be a junkyard, go there with 50$ and some tools.

Getting the whole mirror from Ebay, The forum classifieds, or, the junkyard is fine with me. I just need to be sure that the back of the mirror is the same on all models. It would be a lot cheaper to get a basic mirror without signal and heat and take the mirror apart for the back piece.
