Default Minor Issue or Major Problem

So when I installed my cold air intake I noticed that my dipstick would pop out and oil would kinda splatter around the engine a little. So i push it back in and it would do it again. It only started after i installed the intake. Anyone have fix to this?

You have a problem with blow-by. When the cylinder is in the compression stage some of the compressed fuel/air is getting by your rings, building pressure in the crankcase. That is bad. IDK if there is any other explanation to this? That's all I can think of.

could be a plugged crank case vent. Check the hose that goes from your drivers side valve cover to the intake manifold.

If its blow by how long would it be before it did major damage?

It wont necessarily cause damage but it will allow the engine to burn oil, which is obviously bad. Your PCV system isnt working properly, check your PCV Valve to make sure it isnt stuck shut.

no it probably wont throw a code. The PCV valve is in the valve cover, if you pull it out it should rattle. If it doesnt rattle its bad and needs to be replaced. This is most likely your problem. let me know if you need anymore help
