in this day an age, 100k miles is nothing on these engines... as long as you maintain it properly... they were really built to last

I know a diesel is not the same engine but we have tractors in our fleet with a million plus miles on them. One tractor in particular has 1,200,000 miles on it and it still runs and pulls like it did when it was new. Con-Way Freight changes the oil religiously! That's the result of changing your oil regularly. A motor will go for ever.

Go to a repossession car auction. Those cars are usually in great condition and go for dirt cheap.

Yea, not like the late 70's early 80's domestic cars that were ready for the scrap heap at the 80k mile mark.

Just think of how many miles you drive in a year and how many years youre going to get a loan for.

I bought my '06 in February with 48k and I figure it will have atleast 160k on it when its paid off in 6 years.

Honestly that '04 seems rather expensive.

Man oh man that is a high price. I got my 2005 XLT Supercab with 37,000 miles for 12K. You should be able to get a better price...

At 100K miles on the odo, its all the little stuff that breaks your heart. Nickel and dime stuff. If it will be your daily driver, I wouldn't touch it at these lofty mileage levels. If its a second vehicle, then maybe. The tough thing about trucks is they can be abused in a way cars rarely ever are. If somebody has towed with it and actually used it, the tranny can be a ticking time bomb.

I would argue, everyone on here with success stories are people who take care and pride in their truck. A lot of people don't. The funny thing is people sell their trucks for a reason, if its working fine, why let it go? If you are financing, don't do it. Only cash at this mileage...

^^ i agree too, but there are some reasons that you might need to sell a truck, maybe the motor isnt as big as you would like, maybe its too big, youve got a family now you need more room, more options, etc. i mean dont let buyin a used truck scare you i doubt i buy a brand new one for a long long its just not worth it, like stated 100k isnt that much on these trucks nowadays
