Try Ohio, right above you. Because of all the employee discounts and auto plants, truck and car turnover is pretty heavy. Not sure how many of those people are trading in every couple of years now, given the economy. Between that and no yearly inspection you can get a great deal.

I got mine from Ohio and took it back to Pa. Had to replace brakes and stuff like that, but the deals were amazing. There were a few trucks on the lot, 250's and 350's at really good prices. The salesman (this place resold leased vehicles, mainly)) told me the car plant employees turned over cars and trucks quite a bit because of discounts and it floods the market and keeps prices low...

My '06 Supercab that I bought with 48k has a bunch of little squeaks and rattles. Its now got 60k.
The rear doors rattle and I think I found the ashtray rattle that was annoying me. A few other minor things like that too but really its a great truck.

I had an extended cab sierra with the suicide rear doors and they rattled over bumps... After that truck I never wanted an ex cab again. Sprung the extrai coin for a crew and the whole truck feels more solid

i have no problem driving a distance to get the truck that I want. The problem is that I cant drive 3-4 hours every weekend just to go look at something and it turn out to be a piece of crap. I'm not in a huge hurry, so waiting for the right one is definitely the plan. Although we are traveling to Colorado for Christmas and I would really rather travel with 4 people in a SuperCrew than in an Escape.

My 04 Screw FX4 with 180000 doesn't have a single rattle or squeak. Just depends on how well they were taken care of. Mine was a one owner when I bought it at auction in Tampa a month ago.

I just bought (2 weeks ago) an 04 with 60K miles on it for $13K from Carmax. I added a 4 year extended warranty (which is incredibly detailed) for $2,500 more. By the way does anyone know what kind of inspection Carmax runs through the vehicles before they sell them?

Beware of any Ford truck with more than 50,000 miles on it.

The only thing you should be scared of is running over broken down Chevys and Dodges.

Seriously. You will have to push your truck around all the broken down Fords in order to get to the broken down Chevys and Dodges.

I know all the loyal Ford owners love their trucks and that is good, but take it from me, I used to be one until Ford started seriously cutting corners on their cars and trucks. Then, when you need their help, they just turn their back on you.

Knowing plenty of Ford techs and corporate employees, I know first hand.

Good luck though!
