the low fuel, odometer, ect. box on my truck never illuminated, then 2 random times worked for a little while and turned off on thier own....any one have this issue or know of a fix?

Sounds like the backlight bulb is loose. or bad. Have to remove the cluster to check it.

 

its a bulb? i was always under the impression it was a lcd screen with self illumiation, all sealed and all

 

It is an lcd display. Would need to be replaced, or you're dealer can order one from the vendor and swap you'res out. If you try it on youre own make sure you know someone wth a ford scan tool to perform a parameter reset and then program youre keys

 

i have a stx=no anything to do with keys

i have a livewire so i do have a scan tool

honestly its not worth it if its a pain in the *** i guess...the only thing i need it for is low fuel warning but the needle can give me an idea when to look for the message

 

if you have an 05 f-150 then you have pats keys... You have the blinking red led on the dash ??

 

yep but no special key that i know of, no beeper, no keyless entry, no key pad

 

you have pats keys with the chip in it,,, next time you get in the truck watch the red led on the dash it will be at a steady slow blink then when you turn youre key it will light solid for 3 sec then go out
