Default lowering kit

so im looking at cleaning out the fenders by dropping the truck 2" front and 4" rear! Question i have is, do shock need to be replaced or will OE shocks work! i get told that i dont need them, and others say i do, i have the money for them im just wondering if it is absolutely necessary to change them out.

Thanks in advance!

No. Mine is dropped 2" in the front with Ground Force coil springs and I still have the stock shocks on. The rear of mine is dropped 6" so I got new shocks for that but I don't think its completely necessary. I got toxic shocks for $45 each.
