Default Low speed issue.

Hello Everyone,
I'm fairly new to the site and I'm looking for help. I recently purchased a 2008 F150 XLT with 80,000 miles on it. I have noticed traveling at slow speeds through town that there is a slight hesitation when I step down on the throttle a bit. I have also noticed at times when driving somewhere between 2500 and 3000 rpms once in a while it will feel like it goes into neutral. I'll let off, and then it will go back to normal. I have tried searching the site, but can't seem to find the same issue. I'm sure that I'm probably not putting in the right criteria in my search. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and thank you in advance.

What motor and any service history?

At 80K, it's likely the original plugs are still in there. Might be time for a tune up... plugs, boots, fuel filter, air, etc.

For the trans, first off is it full? And again... Might be time for service. Is the fluid red or is it starting to brown and smell?

And...there is a TSB to have the transmission re-flashed. This will help .. not sure if your's has been done or not.

The low speed throttle hesitation you experience could just be you getting use to the drive by wire system as it'll feel different than a throttle cable.

If that's normal I could live with that, but the times when it seems like it goes into neutral and the revs go up scare me a little.
