Default Low idle

I have an 04 Fx4 125k miles and recently got a tune up because of low idling and occasional stalls.
It's been about a month since and I'm still have low idles around 500 and less, anyone have anything that might help this situation?

Note: no weird noises or anything. Truck runs great otherwise

I'd try cleaning throttle body and MAF sensor.

If that doesn't work get an Edge Evolution programmer-- you can bump up your idle with that. Worked like a charm on mine.

Thanks for your quick responses, I will clean the maf and throttle body this weekend and see if that helps at all

If not the programmer may be the way to go because it's really bugging me idling at 500 rpms every stop sign and light

I believe there is an update for the PCM that raises the idle, you'd have to go to a ford dealer and most likely pay. Hopefully cleaning the throttle body and mass airflow sensor will fix the roughness of the idle, it's pretty common.

THe programmer gives a nice boost to throttle response and shifting. It's worth it in my opinion.

A tuner will allow you to adjust the idle and get more power.. It may also help with any VCT ticking.. I bumped mine up from 500 to 550 to stop the same exact random stalling you describe.. Cleaning the throttle body didn't help, but it doesn't rule out a worn out (servo) throttle body. I haven't stalled out randomly ever since.

Just wanted to update everyone.
I cleaned my throttle body and maf with respective cleaners and the truck never isles below 500 rpm. It was a night and day difference.
Never thought how dirty they would be, but sure enough it had lot of buildup in the TB. Runs so much smoother now, so if anyone has same issue clean these two first
