Get yourself an SCT programmer (Xcal III or Livewire) and some custom tuning by either Troyer Performance or VMP.

What kind of power gains are you guys experiencing with the SCT programmer on a 5.4?

Get the SCT and lose the superchips....not even the same league.

Gains depend on truck, mods, etc.

With my exhaust, CAI, and tuner I netted at least 40-50 rwhp probably more but have done some tweaking since then. New dyno sheets will be done as soon as my 3rd set of tunes arrives.

Get either an SCT tuner tuned by Troyer or VMP or get a Gryphon tuned by PHP.....spend the money and do it right the first time.....Getting anything else is not doing your truck justice......so save up if u need to Im still saving up to get mine.

If you like the Edge Evolution style tuner, then get a Gryphon Tuner by Power Hungry Performance. If you prefer the SCT, get one from Troyer/VMP. All three companies offer custom tunes for your truck. I highly recommend getting them. They are worth the money. Anything less and you will be disappointed.

I'll admit, if you are going to keep your truck stock, a tuner with generic tunes may be fine for you; but, if you wish to do more, and get even more out of your investments, get one you can get custom tuning for.
As almost all tuners do not allow full customization, you won't be able to adjust of mods affecting air flow or fuel needs..... Other mods will require custom tunes, so you may as well get one a programmer that allows you to download tuning right off the bat. Besides, why use a one size fits all program if you can run one that is tailored to your specific needs and wants?

I will be upgrading my Edge programmer to a Gryphon for this very purpose. If I want the full benefit of my other mods, it's a must. I am not going to suggest one tuner over another, or for that matter, one source for your custom tunes over the other. Everyone has their preferences on what features are important in a programmer, and likewise, prefer one custom tune over another.
Since these are not the cheapest investment, ask around about the brands you consider, and the specific needs you have for a program, other peoples experience with products is much cheaper than buying programmers.
