Wow that website is great. Did you end up doing the rear supercab windows also cus mine are fixed? It would be great to get them all to go down. All I have to do is find the wiring harness from a junked truck and ill be on my way to pretty much an XLT truck. Great info!

i always thought mine were fixed glass too, but they actually do roll down. if you take the door panel off you can use a torx bit to roll the manual regulator down. i did put power regulators in mine.

which kit???

ive only got the keyless entry, and when i did it i had a hot wire coming from some fogs in my bumper that i never use so i just spliced into that, kept me from running a wire all the way to the battery, you could just run it to the fuse box and use a add a curcuit i think is what they are called adds a fuse to one already there

Problem with the OEM is that the plastic bushings bust. I've seen a lot of angry folks on this forum that have their windows drop down to the inside of the door panel, and then find out the cost of a new regulator assembly. It is a know "weak" link, and buying used helps, but they will fail eventually too.

I'm a big promoter of the OEM look/style, except when I read about known faults. I then start looking to the aftermarket.

Im not sayin that the internals should be all OEM. I just want to use the OEM door panels. They should make an aftermarket kit that plugs into the factory door panels instead of giving you switches and a window crank cover to put over your non power door panels.

well that would assume that everyone has the panels and the OEM switches, i would rather have the kit the way it is, you could make the kit work with the OEM panels it would just take a little work but i doubt it would be very hard

all you'd really need is the door panel, switch and plug with some tail on it

it could even be done without the plugs if you wanted to. get some female spade connectors and wrap each one with enough electrical tape to make them fit tight in the switch board socket, then wrap them all together to make a single plug. you would need a wiring diagram to know where to plug each wire to though.
