If I get a pioneer with a USB port in the back and use a regular iPod cable can I still look through my iPod folders and change the song through the touchscreen or must I get the hd cord?

I am waiting on Crutchfield to email me when the Pioneer AVH-X8500BHS is available. Seems like a very nice head unit.

The higher the number for pioneer the more expensive and the better the features. If you've got an iPhone 5 you gotta be careful because some don't integrate with it yet.
I've always been a pioneer guy, unfortunately the gf thought she was doing me a favor.

Not sure. If they're both on crutchfield check them both to see their features side by side.

Not sure about the 8400 but the 8500 uses a different and less expensive Iphone 5 adapter than the 5500. It also is compatible with one more app than the 5500. I didn't feel like the 8500 offered enough more than the 5500 to justify me spending $200 more.
