Are you going to use a iPod or do you have an iPhone? I got the iPhone 5 and so I've been trying to be patient as pioneer releases the avhx8500bh so it can run seamlessly with my iPhone 5....

Go with the avh-x5500. Got mine from amazon for $380. Has everything you want. I stream pandora through my android via Bluetooth. Bypass is another 15 bucks so you don't have to look for the annoying emergency break wire. Install took about an hour. You won't be disappointed...

Do you guys with the pioneer's or the Kenwoods find that it takes a long time to boot up when it turns on? I've had this Jensen for a few years and it easily takes 20 seconds to come alive and it pisses me off every time. I've missed so many things waiting for it to power up. Do they all take a little time?

I had a JVC and that thing took forever. My Pioneer AVH-8400BT boots up pretty fast. I mean still slow compared to stock but reasonably fast. I love my 8400 but its pretty pricey. I was looking for a long time at (if I remember right) the AVH-7000 from pioneer. I don't remember prices but its a good one with all the stuff you want. The higher the number for pioneer the more expensive and the better the features. If you've got an iPhone 5 you gotta be careful because some don't integrate with it yet.

Oh and the picture. This is the 8400. I don't remember price because I got it from an audio shop with insurance money after my JVC was stolen.

I just installed a Kenwood DDX470 a few weeks back. Very happy with it.

Definitely a pioneer... They are built to last... I've had the same one since 2007... Not one issue...

Pioneer or kenwood for sure! I was going to get a kenwood ddx319 or 419 (Bluetooth or no Bluetooth) but went to play with them at the local audio store and I like the interface of the pioneers better, looks cleaner and more expensive/professional...

I ended up ordering the new for 2013 model avh-x2500bt for 260 on amazon (everything basic plus Bluetooth, no hd radio or sat radio) I love the fact that it still had some manual buttons as well as touch screen. I installed it with a metra din kit made for f150s didn't have any major problems! Everything works well, no problems.

Loving the head unit so far, I've had it in for only 2 weeks. decent amount of customization, pretty fast loading/boot times, nice DVD quality for what it is! there is a couple videos on YouTube you can watch to see the interface. I recommend it!

My pioneer is 10,000x's better than the JVC I had. Faster boot time, better sound quality, better Bluetooth and iPhone integration, has hd radio, and satellite option capability.
