Well my 01 had a tow package but had 3.31 non ls.

People need to tow no matter how their truck is set up. I cant fathom a single truck without a tow package.....

I know right ? What would be the point of having a truck if you could not tow something with it.. now adding a heavy duty tow package is another story.

My truck has the hd towing packing and hd front and rear suspension and the big beefy trans cooler its the first time i have had it. My 99 f150 i had was just basic and still had the ls in it idk just not understanding why you would make a truck that is built for hd towing but with terable traction control

Thought we were talking about rear ends.. what does traction control have to do with it ?

The overall package is a base tow package. The HD tow package with 3.73's LS and a 5.4 will out tow a 4.6 any day of the week (9500 lbs vs about 7000 on yours). The truck you have is set up for people that tow occasionally, but want the mileage of the smaller engine and taller gears.

Boat ramps can be a little challenging with an open diff, I feel your pain.
