lift question
I'm debating between getting either a four or a six inch lift and was wondering if there is a big difference between to two at all. I wouldn't mind seeing pics of what you guys have as far as these two options to help decide which I might like better.
Thanks!
Thanks!
There isnt much of a difference other than the obvious (2"). I would say go with the 6" unless you have 33's and dont want to get bigger tires. 33's look ok on a 6" but not great. My experience with lifting is you will always want to go bigger and I have heard the same from a number of fellow members. If you are looking at 4" or 6" kits take a look at Zone. The member Tim1216 just installed a 6" Zone and he loves it. As did the member Shadowrider.
You can also look at RCX as they are similar to Zone but Zone is made in the USA if that matters to you. They are reasonably priced too. I believe it is 1199 for the 4" and 1399 for the 6". Also since Zone is a vendor here you can get a kit from them with free shipping through the forum.
Rancho use to make 4" kits but discontinued them for our trucks in January. It would probably be tough to get ahold of one now. The member KingRanch4Life has a 4" Rancho and says it is more like 5-5.5" of lift.
Just some additional info for you to look at. Im sure some people will start putting up pics for you as well. I have a 6" BDS which is at 8" with a spacer.

Go 6".... If i remember correctly the RCX is a drop down so it really doesnt give you a full 6 inch lift with the use of the strut spacer... With blisteins you could acheive the full 6....
Rancho is a 4 inch but myself, swimtexan, bucko, kitchenboy, and a few others are sitting at 5-5.5 inches...
Doing a zone or RCX 6" with blisteins will be a cheaper option than the Rancho(discontinued)....
Plus as stated... You'll want to go higher....
