Default leveling, programer and 35" questions

two quick questions.....

1. what leveling kit should I get, or are the all pretty much the same

2. do you need to regear for 35"? I assume you can fix the speedo with a programer

3. what programers are worth while?

First:Not all leveling kits are the same.I got a HellBentSteel 2.5inch leveling kit and i like it.Sits nice and level.Nice ride also.

Second:If your going 35's you will have to cut or shave your valences to fit so theirs no rubbing. You really don't have to re-gear,so don't waste your money. Now yes anything over 35's,you would want to re-gear.Yes you can fix the speedo with the programmer asa well get back any lost power with your tranny working alittle harder to turn those 35's as well as set better shift points which will help the tranny.

Third:Canned tunes,ok,not bad,But customs tunes better, trade off is,most shops have a wait time to do custom tunes, but well worth the wait.Imo,Gryphon with custom tunes.

^ What he said.

35s you will lose a bit of power. If you tow, it's probably best to re-gear if you can afford it.

And yes a programmer can correct your speedo.

Programmers: Gryphon aka Edge or SCT. Gryphon is a rebadged Edge and allows you to get custom tunes made. You don't HAVE to get custom tunes, but if your running a CAI and Exhaust you will benefit from it.

I just did a smiliar set up, Truxx 3" front/1" rear with a set of Dick Cepeck FC-II's 305/70/18 and don't have any rubbing issues either. Also on a FX-4, 5.4 with 3.73's...

if you don't tow, you can get away with stocking gearing.
