Default leveling kit--size?

Can anyone out there offer some advice? I am thinking of putting a leveling kit on my 05 Lariat Crew Cab 4x4. I see that they come in sizes from 1 to 3". Question: what do most go with--the 3 incher or less?

Go with 2" if you are not going to add any additional weight on the front end, but if you are then go with the 2.5"

If I go with the 2.5", will I have to do anything to the rear? I can only assume that after install of the 2.5" spacers, I will need to get the truck re-aligned--is this correct?

correct. an alignment would be good for it, i know that some on here havent had the alignment and said it really wasnt out of alignment much. but to save the tires i would get one.

I put a 2.5" leveling kit on mine. we measured the difference between the rear and the front. Every truck is different. So you will have to measure the difference between the front and the rear. Also take into consideration the weight of the motor.

I had the 2.5" AS kit on mine before I lifted it. Looked perfectly level to the eye although I think it was slightly taller in the rear.

All good info. Thanks much. I think I will stick with the 2.5" and see where it gets me. Hopefully, all goes well....Additionally, WXMCPO---my wife digs youre truck and wants the same look for mine.....
