Default leveling kit and shocks

Hi all.

Pretty sure I need some shocks. I'd like to get some that are 'high performance' whatever that means to you...and also would like some that provide a good ride of course. Never even looked at any before, but I'm sure there are favorites around here so thought I'd ask.

Also, planning on getting an HBS 2.5" leveling kit. I know shocks have the potential to change the height (though I don't know how much)... just wondering if I should get the shocks on first, assess the situation, and then get the leveling kit afterwards... OR if I should just do it all in one big bang.

Help appreciated.

Wade

Wade,
Check out Rancho Quick Lift. You can knock both out at the same time!

How much will it lift it? Remember I just want to level out.

Also, If I get those, which shocks should I get for the rear?

I don't have a spring compressor, so I'm probably gonna have to take these to get put on even though it seems easy

check out the rancho site. It allows you to put in your vehicle and tell it what you want to do with it and it will tell you what you need front and rear

Bilstiens got the 5100s and Superlift has a 3" "kit" as well.

Rancho and Bilstiens should net you around 2" out front and are adjustable. Should get three from the Superlift.

Going with the rancho lift and 9000 shocks will be over $500 in parts and probably at least another $300 in labor (that's pretty wishful thinking though).

The HBS kit is $69. ... and I could get four rancho 5000 series shocks for around $300. I think that may be what I do just plainly because I'm cheapo haha.

Also... I kinda don't have enough to do all that at the same time. I know I'm going to do the leveling kit now (like ordering tonight). Can I go ahead and get some rear shocks? Will they throw off the level since they are new and stout? Never done this before just wondering. Should I get all the shocks first before I level it?

I wouldn't think they'd throw off the level. If they do, it would be enough to tell. Rough Country also makes a kit for $99, and you can add rear shocks for for another $100 or somethin like that.

Rancho had a promo going that if you bought the QUICK lifts and a set of 9000's you got a $100 gift card back so mine was around $430 with shipping, after the rebate. Plus with the Ranch you get 9 way adjustment settings. Might check it out.
