Default Leveling kit question

Hi all, new to the forum. I searched for the answer to my question and didn't find it, but apologize if it has already been covered.

I have an 06 Lariat crew cab 4x4 with 74k miles and I'd like to install a Daystar leveling kit. I want to replace the stock shocks with Bilsteins at the same time. Does anyone know if I need to order longer shocks for the front since I'd be installing the leveling kit? Thanks.

Depends on how much lift you are going with. You can go up to a three inch leveling kit with stock shock . And have the front alingment done after you install the kit too.

Thanks so much guys. I only plan to go 2 to 2.5 inches. I'll also check out the 5100.

If you plan on leveling the front and want to order new shocks anyway, just save your self the time and money and get the Bilstein 5100's they're adjustable

Bilsteins are pretty good.

I recently pulled the trigger on 4 of the 5100's after all the gushing about them, and well, at least it's level, and the tires are definately planted to the ground.

If you have E load tires though, they are pretty harsh and worse when it's nice and cold outside. I have G/Y silent armours. Saying the ride is firm is an understatment.

After ~1000.00 in shocks/install/alignment I now need softer tires for sure ... or repeated visits to the chiropractor. Tires were part of the plan, but these have about 75% tread left.

Not trying to be a negative Nelly ... just more of an FYI.

You might have too much air in the tires, my E 275/65/20 ride smooth.

35 psi is what I'm running. 275/70/18. It's been about -12 F outside lately too, so perhaps amplifying the stiff ride.
