Default Leveling kit install HELP!

So I am trying to install a rough country 2.5 inch leveling kit on my 04 fx4.
I have the passenger side spacer installed on the spring. however i cannot for the life of me get the strut installed. i can get the strut in the mount but then cant get the spacer in. If i put the spacer in first then the botton of the strut wont go into the mount on the lower control arm. anyone have advice? when i watch installation videos online they just put the strut back in like its nothing. why is mine impossible for me?

This is just a shot it the dark.....but I just put on a leveling kit for my 98 and they sent me the wrong size shocks for the front. I know our suspensions are different but I would definitely get out the tape measure and measure your shock fully extended and compressed and the space between your upper and lower mount fully extended. I had the kit for 2 years so I didn't even bother calling them. I just went to autozone with a tape measure and had them start pulling some out of stock. They had some gabriel ultras for $36 a piece that were 2" over my stock size. I'll try to get a pic of my shocks. I can't get it to attach from my gallery.. The top one is stock, the middle is from autozone, and the bottom one came with the kit.

Our trucks have struts. Look on YouTube. Type in f150 roughy country level kit install. ( I have a ready lift and found a step by step video. 95% worthless cause I knew what I was doing for most of it but It was really nice to have to double check what I was doing. In my kit I had to attach the spacer to the strut out if the truck, sunset the top half where the new spacer is into the top strut mount and it fell Into place if I recall. If not a Lil pry bar never hurt ( obviously no extreme prying ). Good luck.

when i installed mine on my 2007 f150 i put a 3 in front and 2" rear spacer on my truck. I had to completely remove the strut assembly and mount the spacer and then the whole strut had to be spun 180 degrees from its normal position to line up. I hope this works for you.. thats what i had to do with mine.. if you have anymore questions send me a message on my page and i will get back to you..

it looks like my strut is at the wrong angle. i have it in a 180o turn but it seems the strut is angled a little to the left and it needs to be straight. i have tried twisting the spring but its twisted as far as i can get it to go.
