Question Leveling Kit Heights and Concerns

After reading through the threads on leveling kits, I thought the following might be a fairly common concern with leveling kits.

I am looking at buying an '06 FX4 SCab and want to run 33" tires - mainly for the look, as most of the miles will be on the road. To get the proper clearance I am planning to add a 2.5" HBS leveling kit, as it seems to be the most popular manufacturer and height from what I have been reading on here.

My concern is that the 2.5" level kit will bring the front up too much, as, again, these upgrades are for the looks. I would prefer for the front to still be slightly lower than the rear, so a 2" kit seems like it would maybe make more sense. However, HBS doesn't even make a 2" kit for the '04 to '08 F150 - making me second guess the 2 incher. I really do not want the front to be higher than the rear - this would ruin the look of the truck I am looking for.

Should I be worried I am going to get this result with the 2.5" kit, or is this height going to safely keep the front a little bit lower than the rear?

Thanks for the reply - 2 inches it is.

Here's a link to the AS product. Had trouble finding the site so thought I'd share:

I recommend buying the truck first. Then take a measurement from the bottom lip of the wheel to the highest point of the fender opening. Then decide what size you need.
Alot of people here have done the 3". I did. And my truck sits perfectly level. A 2.5 or a 2" would not have achieved the stance I wanted atthe time.

Well, thats the point of measuring isnt it? THen he can decide how much rake he wants. My brother in laws FX4 satnearly 4" lower in the front before he leveled it. Now with the 2.5",he has the desired rake. Had it only been 3" lower,it would be too leveled out for his liking.

Yeah, measuring would be smart. I want to include the cost of the kit and tires in the loan, so I will have to measure when I go to look at the truck.

a level is only 80 bucks, and you can install it yourself. i can see gettin the money for wheels and tires in the loan though.

The only thing is I can get a $500 credit if I give them the tires on the truck now - which are basically new. Then I would have to put the 33s on before I leave the dealer lot. Think I can drive it with 305/60R18s without much rubbing issues until I can get the kit installed?
