Default LED swap

So I've been looking around trying to figure out how to swap my dome lights in the cab with LED's but I don't know how to do it.

I was hoping I could find someone who can post or make a how to for me? As well of anyone has swapped out the lights for the window buttons on the door.

To do it and do it right, it'll take the better part of 3 evenings.

I bought a 50 pack of 3mm, 5v LEDs off e-bay for $9.95 (free shipping). Now, I've got an '08 XLT. The PC boards on mine were different than the one in the above mentioned thread. Fortunately, mine already had micro-LEDs with resistors already soldered on the board. Un-soldering the existing LEDs was a snap. Putting the new ones in was a bit more tricky. You have to have the polarity right.

Instrument cluster was tough. The needles HAVE to be removed in order to get the faceplate off. The faceplate has a green film that comes off with alcohol (I actually used lacquer thinner CAREFULLY!). You have to take pictures of the placement of the needles WITH THE TRUCK RUNNING so when you re-install them, they go back in the right position. I used my GPS to calibrate the speedometer.

The dome and map lights were the easiest. Pull down on the map light console, twist out the bulb holders and replaced with "25 LED replacement bulb" from superbrightLEDs.com. Dome light cover was a little more difficult.

Dome light removal:

Again, replacement bulb from superbrightLEDs.com.

If you've got any questions, shoot me a PM. Hope this helps.
