Kicker Comp Subs
I'm about to buy an underseat sub box for my 2004 supercab, and am planning on two kicker cvt shallow mount 10's. i had a friend today tell me today the kicker comp subs should fit under the seat too and will sound cleaner and hit harder than the shallow mounts, any opinions between the two or other subs that should fit?
also i'm planning on the amp just powering the subs so that means i'll need a 2-way channel amp and 2-ohm subs right? i've never understood how all that works haha.
i've tried the search bar and am not getting anything, so i need the help! Thanks!

As far as fitment i dont have a clue, after you figure that one out crutchfield has a wonderful atricle on wiring and correct ohm and impedance..

hope that helps...
thanks for the reply. and i've read that article before, i'm still kind of confused on all that, i'm naturally slow at picking up on technical stuff haha.
and the mono amp should work then. i thought i'd have to do a 2-way to power 2 subs. i plan to just power the subs with the amp to get as much power to them as i can, and leave the door speakers powered as is. i may get an amp for them too in the future if i get the money, but they already sound pretty good.

I run 1-kicker comp VT12 shallow mount sub under my rear seat with a kicker 475w mono amp. I agree that if you are only using the amp for the subs to use a mono amp. As for fitting issues, you will have to check the box max mounting depth and then look at the mounting specs of the different subwoofers and see if they'll be compatible. Usually the regular subs require a bigger box for maximum air displacement but I think that only comes into play when you run a very high wattage system.
alright i'm not sure on the box mounting depth, its just a box i found at a local hardware shop and the only info on it was it was for two 10's and fits an 04-08 ford supercab. how hard and clean do those shallow mounts hit?
and this won't be a really high watt system, i'm working with a pretty low budget haha. but i do want something clean that can still hit hard.

I like the shallow mount subs and think they sound great. I listen mostly to country and the gain is set on half but every now and then I listen to rap on the radio and it sounds great. It doesnt rattle the glass but that is only because i have a 500w system...does the job for me.
