Default Keyless Key Pad Disable Question

I would like to disable my keyless entry key pad. I am the 3rd owner of the truck and the previous 2 owners live in town. I don't use the key pad, and would feel safer knowing they, or anyone else couldn't get into my truck. Is there a fuse to remove, or is it best to open the door panel and unplug the key pad? Thanks in advance!

I would jut take off the door panel and unplug. Seems the easiest to me. But also be aware that they may also have duplicate keys as well, no stopping that.........In that case, you need to change the drover door lock.

I'm pretty sure you can reprogram it to a new code of your choice.

That's correct. You can set any code you'd like but the master code will always work.

Yep, thats what I meant. So he has to unplug the keypad and put a new lock into the driver door to be totally safe. Or stop buying trucks from sketchy people....LOL, j/k

I thought you could re program the master code. I bought mine used and the code wasn't in the owner's book. The master code is on a sticker in the passenger foot well fuse box. The instructions to re program are in the owner's manual. This is how I reset mine.

The master can never be changed. Like you said its on the passenger footwell, on some trucks. In others, its on the back wall of the cab behind the seat. Thats where mine was, behind the back seat.

Both codes will work. I set a code on mine to match the wifes car. I still use the master to get in my truck while my wife uses the one that matches her car to get in.

Will this work without causing any other issues. I'm the second owner of my, but I am not worried about the previous owner doing anything sketchy, and don't even know what my code is. But I was messing around today, just pushing random numbers and my doors unlocked. I don't like that someone else could do that as well.
