Key issue
If you don't already have two programmed PATS keys, $70 is about what a second one goes for, including the programming. I bought a "one key '06" myself and went through the same thing. After that I bought a couple extra PATS keys (about $18 each) and programmed them myself, just in case I lose or break one in the future. My local dealer cut them for me free, even though I bought them online (felt guilty for not getting them there then!).

I would thoroughly spray all moving parts with penetrating oil. WD40 will only displace water and give minimal lubricating properties. Keep a can of penetrating lube in the truck for emergencies, as road grime, salt and water can quicky clog up the moving parts.
