Just purchased a brand new exhaust system for my f150 and was just curious as to what yinz were all doing to protect/clean your tips??? I live in PA with a lot of salt/dirt and other miscellaneous things all over roads so I didn't want my tips to get crappy looking so quicks. Are ya'll waxing them first for protection or are their other products out there ??? Thanks for everyones help in advance.

 

I have chrome tips and WD-40 and steel wool makes mine look new

 

I usually just take a damp cloth and wipe it. I wrap the cloth around the tip where it connects to the pipe and just wipe in one motion towards the end of the tip. It doesnt keep it clean but its a pretty easy way to clean it... Haven't figured out a way to keep it clean since its in one of the dirtiest places on the exterior of the truck.

 

I use blue job on my pipes for my motorcycle and everything else that has chrome on it, for a quick touch up lemon pledge works well.

 

i cannot think of the name of the stuff i used on my cars tail pipes before i sold it. but it came in a can and you ripped a piece off and it felt oily and rubbed it on the pipes then wiped the excess off and they always had a nice shine

 

Yep, works like a charm! SOS pads work great too.

I just use windex or glass cleaner. Chrome is like a mirror so it works well.

Dont forget to wax them to keep them from rusting from the beginning.
