K&N Filter, dealer said could cause problems

Correct. That would be the only thing a filter could cause.

Do yourself a favor and get rid of the K&N. The stock filter flows will flow more than you need and K&N are garbage, IMO.

I'm running a Roush CAI with no tuner and have had 0 issues.

your dealer is a retard. If its a normal drop in K&N filter and not a CAI then your fine.

I have had a K&N air intake for 70,000 miles with no problems. I get 18 mpg on my 4.6 V8

I've had a K&N intake on my '07 5.4 that was installed when the truck had less than 1000 miles...now at 96,000 trouble free miles.
I'm currently running an AEM dry-flow filter of the same dimensions so I don't havta mess around with oiling.

Appreciate all the feedback. Much like you guys, I have ran K&N drop in's in almost every vehicle I have owned with no problem. I replaced the MAF when i first got the truck and cleaned the TB. Cleaned the air filter and made sure not to over-oil, rough idle was presnt before and after. I felt the dealer what just trying to sell me one of their "stearlership priced" air filters, but wanted to check. these truck do have some weird idiosyncrasies.
