Default K$N air filter

I am thinking about putting in a K$N air filter that replaces the factory on, They clame it can go over 50k miles before needing cleaning.

Is it worth the $60 for it?
will using it do anything to the MAF sensor or throw a trouble code?
I have heard that if you use to much oil to clean it, it can contaminate the MAF sensor, this true even if I use a shop vac to draw out the extra oil.

Will I get an improvement in MPG or horse power acceleration?

I have a K&N OEM replacement filter and I have no experience with the re-oiling of the air filter due to the fact i only have about 4,000 miles on it, however i did notice my truck had a little more pep in its step after installing it...

I put CAI on my Mustang and was shocked that the mpg went down substantially... then I noticed I was revving the motor to 5k, slamming gears, and driving 90mph everywhere I went. Go figure.

K&N claims that even if you over oil the filter it will not hurt the maf senor. I have re-oil mine with the both kits offered by k&n and find it hard for anyone to over oil one of these bad boys.

I was on a K&N kick for a while. Bought their replacement air filters. They were alright. Then I bought a CAI for a Durango that I had with the 4.7L. Only thing I noticed that there was a bunch of noise under the hood when I gunned it. Didn't impress me any. On my King Ranch, I using Amsoil's airfilter and quite satisified with it.
