Default just got the leveling kit installed

i got my leveling kit installed today, but i was told by the mechanic that the kit i had was a 2 inch kit. i asked for a 3 inch when i was at the parts warehouse, is it worth going back to the parts warehouse and making a deal about it?

Nope, the 2 inch spacers are better as they keep the factory specs closer in suspension geometry. The 3 inch ones can cause premature wear on your front end components.

Are you sure? I just did my 2" Saturday and it was only about an 1 1/4 " spacer. That would make me think a 3" spacer would be around 2". Just a thought. Wouldn't a 3" kit make the front about 1" higher without a block out back? If the wheel well openings measure level you should be at 2" if slightly higher it would be a 3" right?

i just installed the tuff country 2in kit, i wanted 2.5 but les schwab had the 2in in stock and i got a decent deal plus it went on the account so no out of pocket right now.

i believe with the right back space and a little trimming 35's arent a problem. most kits state that. i do know i can run 33-34 no problem at all i am actually 1/2" higher than my rear now and my spacer was only about 1 1/2 tall.

2 inch spacer doesn't equate to 2 inch lift. It changes the angles, which factors into the amount of lift. 2 inch spacer may be 3 inch lift. I have seen people able to clear 35s with a 2 inch level so as long as u have proper wheel backspacing u should be good to go.

3 inch levels will put too great of an angle on your CV's and will wear them out. 2" or 2.5" may not be TRULY 2" because you have to factor in the strut tower's existing components. My 2" actually measured 1 3/4" but it lifted the truck a full 2"
