IWE problems?
Since January this year I have again problems with my F150. When I drive, I hear a grinding sound on the front, and after a little reading I found it this could be problems with the IWE.
Tests I did so far:
Driving in 2WD: Grinding now and then, especially with accelerating
Driving in 4WD: Same
Driving in 4LO: Same
When I disconnect the solenoid, the problem is still there.
When I switch from 4HI to 2WD while driving, it looked like the sound went away every time ( I tested it several times) but after maybe 30 secs the sound came back.
I drove with the truck for about 4000km since but still couldn't figure out what it is.
I have to drive with it 3000km tomorrow, is it safe to do? Can I do other tests? Can I drive with it when I plug the vacuum line between the intake and the solenoid?
