Default Interior LED strip problem

Well me and my buddy ran into a problem, we put 4 led strips in his truck and spliced each of them to the running lights(brown wire) we plugged the battery back in and the lights were working properly....until we turned on the truck:/ the speedometer stopped lighting up and none of the lights worked. What could the problem be?? I really wanna fix this ASAP

possibly grounded something out? I'd undo the LED install see if it lights back up then one by one re-introduce the LEDs. One reason I try and stay away from tapping into factory wiring..

Yeah that's our last option, even the brake lights are out. They only turn on when we push down on the brake. I would think a fuse is blown if they were working for a split second.

Did you break the brown wire circuit entirely to splice the wires in? If you did, then all the power has to run through the LED's before it continues on.. This would be a bottleneck in the system..

Your splice should not break the circuit into 2 pieces..
This pic shows a correct splice allowing the completed circuit to remain unbroken...

What do you mean "did you break the brown wire circuit entirely? I literally spliced each of the led lights positive into the brown wire. 2 of them spliced into the front driver side and 2 of them spiced into rear driver side. They were working when I first connected the battery to see of they all lit up, but once I fully turned on the ignition and all the running lights stopped working. Speedometer, PRND12 stopped lighting up, my halos didn't light up and the rear lights don't light up. Basically All running lights

Did you cut the wire in half to splice into it?

No, if I undid the splice the wire would still be together.

Ok...

Are the LEDs polarity (+ & -) clearly marked on the strips?

Yes they are clearly marked, we check 1 by 1 when we were putting them together. They all lit up.

Then I would remove all of them to see if it fixes the problem. Maybe one of the LED strips has a knick in the wire somewhere that's grounding everything out..
If the fuse is blown in the passenger side kick panel, then this might be the case..
