Default Intake manifold bolts

Why do the intake manifold bolts keep breaking before 216 in lbs bought New bolts and torque wrench is torque wrong to high this is a 2006 5.4l 3 v in a Lincoln mark lt

I ran into this same thing. I believe that the 216 in/lbs, is incorrect. I remember getting that number from somewhere, and later finding out it was far lower like 90 in/lbs. Don't quote me on the 90 number, just look elsewhere for the proper specs.

Oh, and yeah, I went back and saw Redfish's reply on my post, and the final torque is 89 in/lbs. I believe I even did everything to like 50 first, so they were all even, then took them all to 89. Good luck, and don't forget to be careful with the vacuum hose on the back of the block!

Thanks I knew that was too much way over torque that sounds better even the dealership says 216 in pounds so around 50 inch lb and then top it off with 89 thank you because these things were snapping off like at about a hundred and ten inch pounds
