Default Intake?

I have been getting the idea that the vote in here is for the Air Force One intakes. Why is that? Are they better than K&N?Also what one is the one that I need for my truck. I couldn't seem to find it on the site. I have a 2004 5.4L Triton.

Troyer Performance who is probably the BEST tuner for our F150's have conducted numerous tests and have concluded that the AF1 is the best for our trucks. You really need to give those folks a call and talk to Mike because he can definitely explain to you anything you want to know about comparisions.

As far as which one to get for your truck they come in 2 sizes the 3" and 3,5". Difference is the 3" tube does not require custom tunes while the 3.5" does. I have the 3" tube in mine with custom tuning, but that's so I can return my truck to the stock tune for trips to the dealership and I don't have to change out my intake. I have had my AF1 for about 4 months now and I love it!

At the site the intakes only go up to 2003 for the F150's. Where is Troyer performance located. I think before I get my truck tuned I will add a few more mods. What does your intake do for your ride? Where are the differences and can you hear it?

You can hear an aftermarkte intake a little but don't look for it to be loud.

intakes will give u a better response on the pedal and helps ur engine breathe easier than that stock intake it comes with.
i like my K&N, but i never did much research. my brother has it on his chevy and it did wonders for that thing, so i thought it would help me out, which it has.

but its ur call, bud!

JRod54 hit the nail on the head. You will notice it most in throttle response! I took mine out on the highway for a quick drive when I first put it on and was simply amazed at the difference when I pushed down on the gas pedal, the truck actually took off.

Here's Troyer's contact info;

I have been looking too and based on their sites, I cannot find much difference between the K & N and the AF1 in fact, I have had a hard time finding hte AF1. The K & N has a washable filter that is guaranteed to last. They offer a million mile warranty. AF1 may too but I have not seen it. I did find a site called autoeverything.com that has both and they are rated the same by the users. You can enter your model truck and get to what you need.
