Check out this thread: https://www.f150forum.com/f4/cluster...visited-17748/
The short version, more in above thread:
You'll need someone to adjust the mileage, dealers won't do it. I had to mail mine out to have done. A local speedo shop may be able to if they have the tool.

You'll need the asbuilt data, the dealer pulls this from OASIS using your VIN. That gets pushed to the new cluster, a good dealer will know and be willing to do it, about an hours worth of labor.

Trust me I had that mentality before the Ford dealership in Nashville attempted to take $100 from me for supposedly flashing said cluster after I installed it (mind you via phone they said they could no problem)....long story short, they didn't. All they did was unplug and replug them back in....never reprogrammed the mileage....then proceeded to tell me they weren't refunding my money! It's amazing how quick they refunded my money after a simple call to Ford Motor Co Complaint center....

The most difficult part is finding a service writer who has the ability to listen and comprehend because this is a very rare procedure to them. If they're a gearhead they'll get it and listen. If they're the parts mgr's cousin's nephew, you don't stand a chance. After that, it's just expensive. I paid for the cluster, one hour of labor at dealer and I think it was $125 plus two way shipping to program mileage.

If there were just one dealer in the US that can program a cluster's mileage it would be all over the place. When a cluster needs replaced the mileage is programmed then sent to the dealer. Once at the dealer the asbuilt data gets pushed to it.

matab14, you sure they didn't push the asbuilt data to the new cluster?

Yeah they really didn't do anything. At the time I had the dash all pulled apart for them. They literally had to unplug and plug the new in....They did that but then claimed they weren't allowed to do anything else. What was so infuriating was is initially they told me "sure, no problem" Then after I picked the truck up and paid it was like group of wolves cornered me and basically told me I was in the wrong and they weren't giving me a dime back. I informed them I would switch the gauges back out myself. Took all of 5 minutes (they told me i couldn't do it, myself)

I'm not the type to make scene or get mad, but some select language left my mouth that day walking out the door....it was just terrible customer service and I think they realized there ways that following morning after daddy (ford hq) gave them a call! lol
