I keep hearing about the 05 injectors getting stuck, but was wondering if it was in the 5.4 liters only

i believe its a 05 5.4 only issue, the 4.6 didnt change as much as the 5.4 did from the 97-03 generation to the 04-08, they went from 2v to 3v, the 4.6 from both generations are only 2v

many of the 01-04 motor parts (f150/mustang) are interchangeable with the 04-08 f150 4.6 motors

05's had the issue as well as real early made 06's. the issues usually start out with a rough idle usually, not always, or they get stuck wide open and pour gas into the engine and destroy it. i know of 2 guys who had there motors replaced. It's BS that ford would replace them unless they are acting up, sounds like a raw deal, i don't wanna be on my family vacation and then its ruined because of something that is a well known issue that the maker won't just fix because of the cost.

Default 05 injectors

I don't know about the 4.6 but 5.4 sure does. No. 8 cylinder injector stuck open and snaped the piston & connecting rod in two. The truck has been
in the shop for two weeks and they haven't done anything yet. Ford want's
to put in a short block but whatgood would will that do since the cylinder head is damaged.

i've got a 2005 5.4 and had an injector stick open it did some serious damage i bought the truck 5 days ago and now ive got a bent connecting rod (i'm guessing.
i wont know untill i tear the engine down it's just knocking now and blowing white smoke)
all ford did was take my money and hook it up to the computer and tell me it has internal engine damage what a bunch of (bs) i could have told them that by the knocking noise
so i towed it home ill update the damage this weekend
