Default I ordered Bilstein 5100s, question.

Ok I have the adjustable front and non adustable rear shocks on the way but my question is....when I install the 5100's and scrap the leveling kit, will I gain suspension travel? I've heard you gain approx 2" of travel over the factory shocks.....true?

Thanks

on the bilstein 5100 adjustable shocks, you can adjust them between 0" and 2.5". so if you make them 2.5", it will raise the front of the truck 2.5", so yes it will still be leveled out

I know you can level them out, thats why I bought it. My question was will i gain more travel? IE if I drive over a whoop offroad will the 5100's have more travel than the stock shocks(with 2" spacers) I have now?

Im not sure as the control arms are stock so i dont know if the geometry will allow it but it would be nice if the shock had a longer reach to soften the blow of a bump at higher speed.

Default 5100's

Can you do me a favor and post what part numbers you purchased? I've been planning to do this to my '11 screw 4x4 and want to make sure I order the correct ones.

I've read so much about them here my head is spinning!

Thanks in advance!

No, you won't. It doesn't matter whether you have Bilsteins, a level, or stock, you aren't going to gain MORE travel...in fact, you lose some when leveling with stock components. I don't think any of the previous posters know what suspension travel is.

That's what I thought....although if im taking out the spacer and installing the adjustable shock I should gain 2" of usable travel from what I have now correct?
