Default HVAC Issues

I’ve been having some issues with the heating and cooling recently.

Bottom line: hot is isn’t hot, and cold air isn’t cold. Both are mild.

I’ve got a 2006 Lariat. As far as diagnosis goes: all airflow modes of cabin HVAC work properly. I can change from floor to straight, or both ect. AC might be low on refrigerant, but the hot air is not hot at all.

Any ideas?

Thanks for the response! I forgot to mention that's what I had been guessing. Seemed like most people still had AC but I'm gonna pick up a new one and try it out. I'll post results when complete.

Issue resolved.

Blend air door actuator replacement solved the issue. I now have hot and cold air again.

I followed this guy's instructions:

He did a nice job explaining everything. The things I learned along the way:

This job seems easy, but removing and re-installing the screws on the actuator is a pain - that part alone took the majority of the time of labor. About 2 hours total from start to finish. The screws are really hard to access and difficult at best with a wrench. Some other tools may have made the job easier, but that's what I was working with. The size is 8mm. I found that disconnecting the actuator wire harness was easier after removing the screws, and reconnecting the harness to the actuator before reinstalling it was a good technique.

Not something I hope to have to do again in the future, but it was effective and now everything works again. Thanks for the help, techrep.
