Default Huge question. Please help..

Alright I took my truck for an alignment. We ended up replacing a pinion sea (390$)l. And I asked them why I'm getting odd wear on the sides of my tires. They said I need a shock replacement. Is this true?

It could be true, tire wear patterns can mean different things, can you post a good straight on, close up shot of one of the worn tires?

if the tire is "scalloped" it could be shocks. i had that issue on my jetta in the rear and it was the shocks causing it. check this out...

How many miles on the shocks what kind of use does the truck see did you do the old jump up and down on the bumper test? if the shocks have 50 to 60 k there is a good chance ther due for replacement. As to tire wear maby yes maby no depends on the type of wear if its even around the tire on one side probably alighnment if its even on both sidesof the tire low inflation pressure if its even in the center high inflation if its choppey could be shocks or ball joints go to another alignment shop get a 2nd opinion

Take it for a second opinion, at a different shop. Usually, the front strut/cartridges will leak oil when they are going bad.

You can see the lug all the way left is straight across and the lug right in front has a bit of a chunk missing almost.
